Subscription terms and platform rules
Terms of Service
The terms for using Horse Syndicate, including accounts, owner data, Stripe subscriptions, cancellation, refunds and Australian SaaS service conditions.
Last updated: 5 June 2026
1. Who these Terms apply to
These Terms apply to your use of Horse Syndicate, an Australian SaaS platform operated by Artrick for racing syndicate administration. By using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you use the platform for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to do so.
2. What the platform does
Horse Syndicate helps users manage owner records, share percentages, workbook data, prize money splits, owner statements, payment reminders and subscription billing workflows.
The platform is an administration tool only. It does not provide legal, accounting, tax, financial product, investment, wagering or racing compliance advice. You remain responsible for your own syndicate records, agreements, accounting, tax and owner communications.
3. Accounts and organisation data
You are responsible for keeping account access secure and for ensuring the users you invite have the correct role. You remain responsible for the accuracy of owner details, horse records, share allocations, workbook figures, payment records and statements entered by your organisation.
You retain ownership of the data your organisation enters into the platform. You allow us to host, process, back up and display that data so we can provide and secure the service.
4. Privacy
Personal information is handled under our Privacy Policy. If you add owner or user information, you must have authority to do so and use it only for genuine syndicate administration purposes.
5. Trial, subscription and pricing
Horse Syndicate may offer a free trial. Unless the signup or checkout flow clearly says otherwise, a free trial does not require a payment card and you will not be charged until you choose a paid plan or complete Stripe checkout.
Paid plans are subscription based. The advertised plan is $199 per month per organisation unless another price is shown at checkout or agreed with us in writing. Prices are in Australian dollars unless stated otherwise. GST will be handled in accordance with applicable Australian tax requirements where relevant.
6. Stripe payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe may collect card details, billing details, invoices, tax details and payment security data under Stripe's own terms and privacy policy. We do not store full card numbers.
By starting a paid subscription, you authorise recurring subscription payments, failed payment handling, invoices and related billing events for the selected plan. You are responsible for keeping payment and billing contact details current.
7. Cancellation and failed payments
You may cancel a subscription through the Stripe billing portal or by contacting us. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless confirmed otherwise.
If payment fails, we may notify the organisation admin, retry payment, provide a grace period, restrict paid features, suspend billing features or cancel the subscription.
8. Refunds and consumer guarantees
Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot be limited under Australian law.
Subject to those rights, subscription fees are generally not refundable for change of mind, unused time, incorrect setup, owner data entry errors or failure to cancel before the next billing date. Where a refund or other remedy is required by Australian law, we will provide the required remedy.
9. Acceptable use
- Do not use the platform for misleading, harmful or unlawful purposes.
- Do not attempt to access another organisation's data.
- Do not interfere with the service or upload harmful code.
- Do not use statement or reminder emails for spam.
- Do not resell the platform without written permission.
10. Emails and reminders
The platform can send owner statements, reminders, reset codes and service emails. You are responsible for ensuring owner email addresses are correct and that you have authority to send syndicate administration emails. Delivery can be affected by email providers, inbox rules, spam filtering and domain authentication.
11. Service availability and third parties
We aim to provide a reliable service, but online services can have outages, maintenance and errors. Horse Syndicate relies on third-party providers such as Stripe, Resend, Vercel, Neon/Postgres, Sentry and authentication providers. Their own terms, limits and outages may apply.
12. Security and backups
We use reasonable security measures such as HTTPS, access controls, password hashing, monitoring and backups. You should keep independent copies of important business, financial, accounting, syndicate and owner records.
13. Intellectual property
Artrick owns or licenses the Horse Syndicate software, design, workflows, branding and documentation. You receive a limited right to use the platform for your organisation while your account is active and compliant with these Terms.
14. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused by incorrect data entered by your organisation, payment disputes between owners and managers, accounting treatment, tax treatment, racing compliance decisions or third-party service outages.
This section does not limit rights or remedies that cannot be limited under Australian law.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia.
16. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted on this page. For questions, contact Artrick at arthur@artrick.com.au.
